HOW THE SITE WORKS

 

§         Candidate Registration  

 

Candidates can register completely free of charge under one of the two levels –Active and Inactive.

An Inactive Candidate registers by providing only their name, username, password and email address. Since they do not provide their job details/Resume to the site, an Inactive Candidate will not be considered for a Candidate search by an employer.  

    An Inactive Candidate can become an Active Candidate or vice versa.

An Active Candidate is one who has completely registered with job preferences, experience and relocation choices (up to 5 States).  An Active Candidate must either type or cut and paste their resume in the Text Resume field.  This is a searchable field for the employer to seek "key words" so it is important this field is complete as possible.  An Active Candidate can optionally upload their resume (.doc) for the employers convenience.

An Active Candidate may also choose their profile to be confidential to potential employers. This filters all personal information about the candidate provided they have carefully excluded that information in the the Text Resume Field in their profile and/or the uploaded Resume. 

    

            Edit Candidate Profile  Registered candidates can edit their profile anytime (except the username). Candidates can also delete their profile from the site if they wish.  

      Active Candidates may be notified directly by potential employers through the site.  Active or Inactive Candidates may notifiy employers with job openings posted via e-mail or by phone.

§         Job Search   

A user can search for active jobs in the site based on different criteria.  The Result is a list of jobs that match the specified criteria. User can click on the Company name to view the details of the company, if the posted job is not confidential. The Job Title in the list is the link to the job details.

 

o       Quick Search  

§        Quick Search allows the user to search for Active jobs in the site by specifying any/all of the following criteria:

       Jobs Posted From a Particular Date 

       Jobs Posted Till a Particular Date      

                  Keywords separated by comma (this will search

         for the keywords in  Job title, Job Category, Job Expertise,

         Job Profile, Job Description and State )   

o       Advanced Search   

§        Advanced Search allows the user to search for Active jobs in the site by specifying any/all of the following criteria: 

          Jobs Posted From a Particular Date 

        Jobs Posted Till a Particular Date 

        City 

        State- multiple states selected by holding down the ctrl key

        Job Expertise 

        Job Category 

        Job Title (user can select multiple job title by holding Ctrl

          key and selecting) 

        Experience by years

        Keywords separated by comma  (this will search for the

          keywords in  Job title, Job Category, Job Expertise, Job

          Profile, Job Description and State) 

        Result Order – By Date or Keyword relevance 

        Result View – Either Brief or Detailed   

o       Apply to the job  

§       Candidate can apply online only if they have registered as an Active or Inactive Candidate with the site and logged in to their account. This will send an automated mail from the user’s email address registered with the site to the company’s email address for the specified job. If the user is not logged in, they are redirected to the candidate login page, which will send the application to the Employer.   

§        Alternatively, Unregistered users can get the Company information (email, phone number etc) from the Job details if the company had provided the same.  

§        When an Active Candidate Applies for a job, the employer receives an email that contains the candidate profile and also a link to the candidate's detail page on the site.  

o       My Search Agents– Limited to 5 for each user.   

§       This is a list of all the saved searches.  To save a search, a logged in user can save the criteria with a unique name. Clicking on View Results button against each saved search agent will list all active job postings that match the corresponding saved criteria.  

o       My Alerts– Limited to 10 for each user   

§       This is similar to Search Agent results, except that the job posted matching each saved criteria will be listed, and those posted on each day will be emailed to the candidate’s email address – one email  for each alert saved.  This will allow a Active or Inactive Candidate to automatically be notified when a job that hits their criteria is posted.  The emails are generated daily at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
